Case files and pasted text

PDF, DOCX, and TXT files are read in your browser so their text can be extracted. When you request an analysis, the extracted case text, selected course, and optional professor focus are sent through CaseBriefTemplate's server-side endpoint to the configured AI processing provider. The provider credential is stored on the server and is never sent to your browser.

CaseBriefTemplate does not intentionally store uploaded files or extracted case text in its analytics database. Server logs record operational metadata such as request time, source type, course, character count, duration, and success or failure; they do not record the opinion text.

Do not upload confidential, privileged, sealed, exam-restricted, personally sensitive, or client material. Use only opinions and course materials you are permitted to process.

Purchase and access data

Dodo Payments acts as the merchant of record for checkout, tax, receipts, payment processing, and credit delivery. Dodo collects the customer and payment information shown at checkout under its own privacy terms. CaseBriefTemplate receives operational identifiers such as the Dodo customer ID, payment or entitlement identifiers, webhook ID, and the last four characters of an access key.

CaseBriefTemplate does not store the full access key. The server stores a one-way SHA-256 hash so it can match active purchased access. After activation, the browser stores a signed access session in local storage. The checkout return page may hold the full key briefly in session storage while activation completes, then removes it.

A server-signed random visitor credential is stored in browser storage and a secure, HttpOnly first-party cookie to provide up to five free case analyses. The server stores only salted hashes and counters associated with that credential and network-level abuse-prevention windows. Network addresses are not stored in plaintext. Purchased analysis use is recorded in Dodo's credit ledger.

Usage measurement

The site sends privacy-light events to a Cloudflare counter at /api/event. Events may include page path, action name, file format, selected course, source type, and a random browser-session identifier. They do not include case names, facts, issue text, rules, analysis, notes, email addresses, or school IDs.

A short rate-limit record may be derived from network information to prevent abuse of free analysis and support forms. It is not displayed publicly.

Support requests

If you submit the support form, CaseBriefTemplate stores the reply email, selected topic, optional Dodo order reference, message, status, and timestamps. Do not paste case text, card details, school IDs, or sensitive records into a support request.

Your responsibility

AI output may be incomplete or wrong. Review every proposition against the assigned opinion, course materials, and professor instructions.
