Format intent
Case Brief Format for Law School
A useful case brief format gives you enough structure for class without turning every case into a long memo. Start with the sections your professor asks for, then keep each section short enough to review before class.

Format choices
Use FIRAC when the facts need to come first. Use IRAC when your class emphasizes issue, rule, application, and conclusion. Use CREAC when you want a more memo-like explanation with a conclusion at the front and end.
CaseBriefKit is an educational writing aid for law school notes, not legal advice.
